Southern Cross College is an academically successful,vibrant, family orientated space; who would not love to go to a school where you hear the cry of a fish eagle in assembly, just before you head off to Physical Science or Business Studies?

In the past we have endeavoured to provide subjects that cover all possible applications to tertiary institutions.

The compulsory subjects along with the choices between:

Physical Science/ Business Studies

Engineering & Graphic Design/ Life Science

Creative Art/ Geography

have allowed our learners the opportunity to enter into a tertiary education, if the wish to do so.

However, considering the beautiful area that we live in and the tourism industry that the Greater Kruger is a part of, we found that many of our learners are naturally drawn to the possibilities on offer in this industry.

Therefore, Tourism was introduced as an elective subject for the 2020 subject choice package. The introduction of Tourism allows our learners to have a completely different avenue to pursue.

There are 6 of our grade 10 learners who have elected Tourism as part of their subject choice. They follow an online programme that is facilitated by Mrs S du Preez (Deputy Head) and Mr K Marumbinda (HOD: Learner Affairs).
